Title: MENstruation
Medium: Sculpture
Artist Statement: This artwork is talking about gender inequality and stereotype. With the advocacy of women’s right, the right of girl is more concerned. However Boys right is now not being considered ridiculously. My artwork state what people think a boy should and should not do in traditional mindset and it restricts the boys to suppress their real hobbies in order to follow the crowd and not to be mocked. MENstruation is a natural biological phenomenon of girls and this shows a boy have ‘girlish’ hobbies is. Also this word implies the word ‘MEN’.
