Two TYT Students Named SCMP Student of the Year Finalists

We are proud to announce that two of our students have been named Merit Award winners in the prestigious 2025/26 South China Morning Post (SCMP) Student of the Year competition, ranking among the Top 10 finalists in their respective categories. This distinguished competition, organized by SCMP and sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club, celebrates exceptional secondary school students across Hong Kong.

Pang Ching Hiu — Best Devotion to School (Merit Award)

As Chairperson of the Student Union, Pang has demonstrated exemplary leadership in preserving the school’s extracurricular traditions while pioneering innovative initiatives such as the Inter-House Intelligence League to foster greater student engagement. Her wholehearted commitment to school life and outstanding leadership qualities have earned recognition beyond our campus, including being named an Outstanding Student Leader in the Hok Yau Club Outstanding Student Leader Award. Pang’s dedication embodies the spirit of service and leadership that TYT seeks to nurture in all our students.

Wong Cheuk Yin — Sportsperson (Merit Award)

A member of the Hong Kong Taekwondo Representative Team, Wong has brought immense pride to our school through his remarkable achievements on the international stage. He claimed Championship titles at both the Australian Open 2025 (Individual) and the Austrian Open 2025 (Pair), and has represented Hong Kong at the World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships 2024 (Freestyle Poomsae Individual) and the Asian Junior Taekwondo Poomsae Championships (Team). In recognition of his exceptional athletic performance, he was awarded the Hong Kong Sports Institute Elite Training Grant, all while maintaining excellent academic results.
