We are thrilled to announce that Luk Hiu Yuet Edna from 5B has brought immense pride to our school by being crowned the Performing Artist winner in the 2024 South China Morning Post (SCMP) Student of the Year competition, creating a historic milestone for TYT! This prestigious award, organized by SCMP and sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club, honors exceptional secondary school students across Hong Kong.
Edna's remarkable achievement in the Performing Artist category is a testament to her extraordinary talent, tireless dedication, and boundless passion for dance. Beginning her journey at the tender age of two, she has since mastered a wide range of dance styles. Over the years, Edna has represented Hong Kong in numerous international competitions, earning an impressive array of accolades. Beyond competitions, she has also devoted her time to charity performances, using her art to bring joy to audiences and deliver meaningful messages to the community. Currently, she serves as the captain of the school Modern Dance Team, further showcasing her leadership and commitment to the art form.
The award ceremony, held on July 12, 2025, was a momentous occasion that will be remembered in TYT's history. Edna's victory over candidates from traditionally prestigious schools not only thrilled our school community but also inspired us all, with her captivating performance earning admiration from everyone present. As the inaugural TYT student to secure the championship in the Performing Artist category, this exceptional accomplishment highlights her remarkable abilities while demonstrating TYT's dedication to cultivating student potential across diverse fields.
